On Being in Love

From every encounter, from every glance of the eye (however swiftly it takes hiding, so to speak, behind the eyelashes), one fetches something home, like the bird which in its busy season fetches one piece after another to its nest and yet constantly feels overwhelmed by the great wealth at its disposal.

Ah, Kierkegaard. Is there anything the man DOESN'T talk about?
I do like that quote, though.

i often wonder! but actually kierkegaard was very much acquainted with the emotions of being in love; he was in love for the larger portion of his adult life.

on the other hand, since his approach to philosophy was not to create a system, nor in theology to craft a sytematic, but rather to connect with the most basic impulses of the human psychy in order to help the individual on his/her own journey in thought and faith, there are very few topics to which the writings of K would not be relevant.
